Vent Stack

A vent stack is a vertical pipe that runs through the building and exits through the roof, allowing air to circulate within the plumbing system. It prevents sewer gases from entering the home and maintains proper drainage flow. Roof penetrations for vent stacks require proper flashing and sealing to prevent water infiltration. In roofing systems, vent stacks are common penetration points that must be carefully waterproofed for long-term durability.
