Roofing Saddle

A roofing saddle is a raised, sloped structure installed between roof penetrations such as chimneys or mechanical units to divert water away from vulnerable areas. It improves drainage efficiency and prevents water pooling behind obstructions. In heavy rainfall regions like Vancouver, roofing saddles are essential for reducing leak risks and improving long-term roof performance. They are often constructed from wood framing and integrated into the roofing system with proper flashing and waterproofing layers.
