Roof Penetration

A roof penetration refers to any object or structure that passes through the roofing system, such as vent pipes, chimneys, skylights, or HVAC units. These areas are highly vulnerable to leaks if not properly sealed and flashed. In Vancouver’s wet climate, roof penetrations require specialized waterproofing solutions to prevent water infiltration. Proper installation includes flashing, sealants, and underlayment integration. Roof penetrations are among the most critical points in a roofing system and require regular inspection to maintain long-term performance.
