Rafters

Rafters are sloped structural beams that extend from the roof ridge to the eaves, forming the primary support system for roof decking. They are traditionally used in stick-built roofing construction. Rafters must be properly spaced and installed to ensure even weight distribution and structural stability. In Vancouver homes, rafters must withstand snow loads and moisture exposure, making proper installation and ventilation essential for long-term durability.
