Modified Bitumen

Modified bitumen is a durable roofing material commonly used in low-slope and flat roofing systems. It is made by reinforcing asphalt with rubber or plastic modifiers, improving flexibility and weather resistance. In Vancouver’s rainy climate, modified bitumen provides strong waterproofing protection and resistance to temperature fluctuations. It is typically installed in multiple layers, either through torch application or self-adhering sheets. This roofing system is known for its reliability, ease of repair, and long-term performance. It is widely used in commercial roofing applications due to its strength and resistance to ponding water.
