Leak Barrier

A leak barrier is a protective roofing membrane installed in critical areas of the roof to prevent water penetration. It is typically applied around roof edges, valleys, chimneys, skylights, and other vulnerable sections. Leak barriers are designed to self-seal around fasteners and resist wind-driven rain and ice buildup. In Vancouver’s rainy climate, leak barriers provide essential protection against long-term water damage and structural decay. They are often used in combination with underlayment systems to create a multi-layer waterproofing solution that enhances overall roof performance and lifespan.
